Someday All This Will Be Yours is a book of interconnected essays about grief, my father, and the twentieth century.
Individually, these essays blend personal and cultural history, exploring what we leave behind and why. As a whole, this project is an exploration of how the living deal with the memories of the deceased through their belongings and how the dead transition from people into stories.
While I attempt to recapture and piece together a portrait of my father through the objects and collections he left behind, I also examine the history of individual objects as cultural signifiers.
Read an early draft of one of the essays.
